Editorial standards
Our standards, in plain language:
- Accuracy first. Every factual claim in a script is checked against the source material by an adversarial review before a human approves it. Single-source stories are labelled with caution internally and corroboration is sought before naming individuals in crime coverage.
- Attribution. Allegations are always attributed ("police say…", "reports suggest…"). The presumption of innocence is respected. UK contempt rules are enforced in our production system, not just our intentions.
- Neutrality. We strip spin and present what is known, what is disputed and what happens next. Where opinion exists we say whose it is.
- Sources on every story. Each article links the original reporting it draws on.
- Media rights. Every image and clip we use is licensed, officially released, or our own — and logged with its provenance.
